You may recognize little Ella from an earlier blog post - I'll tell ya, this girl knows how to work the camera and she is only 1!!  Her cousin is following in her footsteps as well...what a cute kid.  I had to resist kissing his cheeks the whole shoot. I love this whole family.  I am proud to call them friends, and I look forward to watching their little ones grow up!

This shoot was a looong time coming, and I am SO excited to finally introduce the Schoen Family! When I first met Carina at Humanity Salons, she was halfway through pregnancy #2.  Her and her husband, Nick, had been looking into adoption, and (long story short...and hopefully accurate)...the adoption at first was taking longer than expected, and then they ended up getting pregnant.  They stopped pursuing the adoption for a little bit, but then BAM, got a call when she was 6 or 7 months pregnant from the adoption agency saying there was a baby boy about to be born, and would they be interested?  They flew out and picked up baby Eddie, and then 2 months later, out comes George. I thought that I had it hard having my kids 10 months apart, but 2 months...good Lord.  She is the definition of a super mom.  In fact, you can follow her

The last time I got to spend time with this family is when I took Savannah's 6 month pictures.  Now a year and a half later I got to do the same for sweet Stella.  I had a great time hanging with now the older Savannah and Tyson as they helped set up picture space...for each other... Every time I am with this family (which isn't enough), I am amazed at how well everything is run!  Needless to say, I took some pointers home. I am in love with these pictures, and hope you will be too! Cheers! xoxo Janell

I figured that my first picture blog should be of something very near and dear, and what can be more loved than ones own flesh and blood? I took these photos of my daughter and son, Elliott and Miles, while at my parents house in late fall.  I had picked up a little green suitcase at the goodwill outlet in Tacoma (along with some fabulous silver serving trays) and immediately pictured it in some sort of vintage picture with one of my children.  A few weeks later I was in H&M at the Tacoma Mall, and I saw that little pageboy hat.  I loved it as soon as I saw it, and searched around for any other pieces that I could put together for Miles.  Much to my surprise (and joy) I found the trousers/suspenders and a white button up.  I was so very exited to get home and get them
